Dari kemarin sudah diminta tolong oleh kawan untuk setting mikrotik RB2011U yang ada layar sentuhnya dan juga ada internal antena yang lumayan bagus jangkauan dan kualitas sinyalnya. hehehe… masih belum sempat-sempat karena sibuk dengan warung kelontong milik bini yang sedang hamil muda, sabar ya.

 Wireless LAN AP Configuration

Getting Started

This Access Point provides web-based configuration page allowing you to configure from wired or wireless stations. Follow the instructions below to do the configuration.

 

From Wired Station

Make sure your wired station is in the same subnet with the Access Point.

The default IP Address and Sub Mask of the Access Point is:

Default IP Address: 192.168.2.1

Default Subnet: 255.255.255.0

Physical Setup of a LinkSys Router

Each model of LinkSys router will differ slightly, but the general design is similar across all models. Therefore, the setup is similar across all models.

1. Attach the antennas to the router (if your LinkSys router support wireless)d
2. Plug the Ethernet cable from your broadband Internet provider into the port labeled “Internet”
3. Plug another Ethernet cable into one of the available ports
4. Plug the other end of that same cable into an Ethernet port on your PC

LinkSys Router Configuration

LinkSys routers now ship with a Setup Wizard which is intended to simplfy basic configuration tasks.

We do not recommend the LinkSys Setup Wizard for two reasons:

1. The Setup Wizard is not significantly easier that the regular configuration menus
2. If you use the Setup Wizard, you will end up learning two interfaces for your LikSys router instead of just one

Instead, we recommend simply starting your web browser and jumping into the configuration.

Once your web browser is open, go to the URL http://192.168.1.1/. This will take you to a popup box which asks you to enter a username and password.

The username is either blank or “admin” and the default password is “admin”.

Once you are past the login screen, you are able to access (and change) a plethora of configuration options for your router.

Don’t be worried by the enormous number and variety of options, your LinkSys router ships with default settings that enable it to work right out of the box in most environments.

From here the configuration options that you choose are largely up to your own personal preference.

If this is a wireless router, we recommend that you consider setting an SSID to identify the router as your own and configuring WEP to encrypt your wireless traffic.

Hardware Installation

1. Place the Wireless LAN Broadband Router to the best optimum transmission location. The best transmission location for your WLAN Broadband Router is usually at the geographic center of your wireless network, with line of sign to all of your mobile stations.

2. Connect the WLAN Broadband Router to your wired network. Connect the Ethernet WAN interface of WLAN Broadband Router by category 5 Ethernet cable to your switch/ hub/ xDSL modem or cable modem. A straight-through Ethernet cable with appropriate cable length is needed.

3. Supply DC power to the WLAN Broadband Router. Use only the AC/DC power adapter supplied with the WLAN Broadband Router; it may occur damage by using a different type of power adapter.

The hardware installation finished.

Software Installation

There are no software drivers, patches or utilities installation needed, but only the configuration setting. Please refer to chapter 3 for software configuration.

There are web based management and configuration functions allowing you to have the jobs done easily.

The WLAN Broadband Router is delivered with the following factory default parameters on the Ethernet LAN interfaces.

Default IP Address: 192.168.1.254

Default IP subnet mask: 255.255.255.0

WEB login User Name: <empty>

WEB login Password: <empty>

   1.  Prepare your PC to configure the WLAN Broadband Router

   2. set your TCP/IP address computer like below

   3. IP Address: 192.168.1.1, any IP address within 192.168.1.1 to 192.168.1.253 is good to connect the Wireless LAN Access Point.

   4. IP Subnet Mask: 255.255.255.0

   5. Open a WEB browser, i.e. Microsoft Internet Explore, then enter 192.168.1.254 on the URL to connect the WLAN Broadband Router.
